Force reaches milestone 1,000th round-win in Madison

One week after his daughter made Funny Car history with a breakthrough victory in Atlanta, John Force celebrated his 59th birthday Sunday by becoming the first driver to win 1,000 competitive rounds in the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.

When Force drove his Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang to a 4.862, 320.20 to beat defending event champion Ron Capps in the first round of Sunday's 12th annual O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals presented by Castrol, it propelled him to what may be his ultimate accomplishment in the sport.

Hey Race Fans!

Route 66 Raceway will be the site for the Rockett Brand Race Fuel E.T. Bracket Series event on Saturday, May 10. Also featured on Saturday will be the second 32-car field Top Sportsman race of the season. Gates open at 9 a.m. Admission to the event is $15; children 12 and under are free.

The Rockett Brand Race Fuel E.T. Bracket Series is a unique class of auto racing that pits drivers not only against each other, but also against the clock. They earn points for each round based on their individual runs. In addition, drivers compete for a cash purse and the opportunity to represent Route 66 Raceway in Indianapolis at the NHRA Division 3 Bracket finals at the end of the season.

TICKETS FOR THE 11TH ANNUAL TORCO RACING FUELS ROUTE 66 NHRA NATIONALS NOW ON SALE!

The NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series will visit Route 66 Raceway on June 5 - 8 for the Torco Racing Fuels Route 66 NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway. As in years past, spectators and drivers are anticipating another record-setting event.

Competition at the 11th Annual Torco Racing Fuels Route 66 NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway will include the categories of Pro Stock Car, Funny Car, Top Fuel Dragster, Pro Stock Motorcycle and all the Sportmans categories. Fans will feel the rumble of the grandstands vibrating from the power of the Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.

ATTENTION RACERS!

Over the winter season Route 66 Raceway performed renovations on the top-end of the drag strip. The gravel trap has been extended by 90 ft. and the turn-off has been widened by 30 ft. It is recommended that racers take the time before they race to familiarize themselves with the changes that have been made.

Ticket Redemption Policy for 2007 Rained Out Masters of Disaster Event at Route 66 Raceway

Fans who purchased tickets to the rained out Masters of Disaster event at Route 66 Raceway on August 4, 2007 can redeem their tickets for admission to the September 20, 2008 Demolition Derby. In order to receive your tickets to this event, you MUST exchange last year’s rained out Masters of Disaster tickets.
