Track Surface

Chicagoland Speedway is a paved asphalt racetrack. Its pavement is the original from 2001, making it the fourth oldest on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series circuit (Dover, 1995; Fontana, 1997; Atlanta, 1997).

Drivers note that the pavement has aged well, providing a challenge regarding difficulty on themselves as well as on tires.
