Fan Feedback Fuels Upgrades in Food, Transportation, Viewing and More

JOLIET, Ill. (July 13, 2017) — Chicagoland Speedway announced today several updates and enhancements, largely based on fan feedback, which will be implemented to improve the  overall guest experience at Chicagoland Speedway’s Tales of the Turtles 400 weekend, September 14-17. The staff at the D-shaped, tri-oval in Joliet, Ill. is continually looking to enhance the fan experience while building on previous improvements. With this goal in mind, completed surveys, emails, calls and requests have all been carefully reviewed and considered.

Revamped In-Race Experience
The PA and sound system has been totally revamped with state-of-the-art technology throughout the facility to keep fans dialed into the action all weekend. The speedway has not only enhanced the audio experience, but has also added a third center screen to improve the viewing in-race experience.

Enhanced Food Flavors and Selections
If variety is the spice of life, fans have arrived at the right place. Chicagoland Speedway has added a variety of flavors and food features at several new locations throughout the concourse that offer value combo meals, signature items and healthy food options. Fans on the main concourse and those in the infield will now have access to these selections as the Infield Fan Zone will house additional and unique food offerings.

Return of the Manufacturer’s Midway
The fans spoke and Chicagoland Speedway listened: Merchandise haulers will return in 2017. Fanatics is converting their merchandise location from the Superstore tent to 11 merchandise trailers, each a sprawling 55’ in length.

Additional Transportation and Parking Options
With a new on-demand cart service, fans now have the option of private transport to get them where they need to be in an instant for a modest fee. Parking is always free at Chicagoland Speedway, but to further aid in the commute from the fan’s home to their seat, the speedway is offering Front Row Parking which includes a larger overall tailgating footprint for you to enjoy for a modest purchase.  An improved complimentary shuttle service will ease your travel concerns in and around the speedway. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the increased number of gate staffers that will welcome you through the additional express lanes, and fans without bags will race through our express lanes.

Following the drop of the checkered flag on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series weekend, more exit routes will be available with the reopening of Briggs Street which provides an additional access point to I-80. As always, we will round out the weekend with our post-race concert. And if you’ve decided to take advantage of our enhanced camping experience, enjoy your final night’s stay on property within our beautiful campgrounds.

We personally invite fans to attend and witness the many improvements coming to Chicagoland Speedway September 14-17. If you have any further suggestions for future improvements, please e-mail
