CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY PROVIDES FANS WITH MORE THAN RACING OVER FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND

Rob Gronkowski, Drive N’ Dad Classic Car Show, Guy - A Men’s Expo, and live music headline fan opportunities on June 20 at Chicagoland Speedway

Joliet, Ill.—June 16, 2015 – NASCAR fans traveling to Chicagoland Speedway to celebrate Father’s Day weekend can expect to see plenty of action, both on and off the track, during a holiday weekend with dad. The Owens Corning AttiCat® 300 and the SCOTT 150 will run under the lights on Saturday, June 20.

Celebrities

New England Patriots All-Pro tight end and Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski will kick off Father’s Day weekend alongside his four brothers and father. It will be a family affair as Rob and his brothers; Gordie Jr, Chris, Dan, and Glenn serve as co-Grand Marshals for the NASCAR XFINITY Series race. Rob’s father, Gordy Sr. will serve as the race’s Honorary Starter, and Rob will then lead the field to green as the official pace car driver for the Owens Corning AttiCat® 300 race under the lights.

 

Nashville recording artist, Chicago native and die-hard NASCAR fan, Jessica Rae, will also be joining the Gronkowski family during pre-race festivities. Rae will perform the national anthem following driver introductions.

 

Chicagoland Speedway Garage Experience

Race fans with a Fan Zone Pit Pass, and accompanying grandstand or infield camping admission, will have the exclusive opportunity to experience the working NASCAR XFINITY Series and ARCA Racing Series garage areas prior to the start of the races on 6/20.

This highly sought after experience for entry into the garage area at Chicagoland Speedway will feature designated pathways and viewing areas inside the garages so that fans may receive up-close and personal views while race teams continue their preparation for the day’s events. As each guest enters the garage area they will receive a hot sheet with a guide, map of stalls and a detailed explanation of the NASCAR inspection process ensuring that this is an entertaining and educational experience.

Champions Park

Champions Park is recognized as one of the most impressive and fan-interactive display areas on the motorsports circuit, and will be open from 11:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m. on Saturday with a multitude of entertainment options. Guy – A Men’s Expo will feature all things guys enjoy - sports, beers, cars and more! The day will feature dozens of vendor booths, appearances from local chefs, sports stars and hands-on fun activities for men of all ages.

 

Champions Park will also host The 2015 Drive N’ Dad Classic Car Show presented by 97.1 FM, a complete wiffle golf course, courtesy of Pin High Wiffle Golf and a 20-foot high, 100-foot long zip line. You can also stop by the Route 66 Raceway booth to test your reaction time on the practice tree and enter to win tickets to upcoming events.

 

Legends Club

Featuring appearances from renowned drivers and personalities, and themed with items from NASCAR’s rich tradition, the Legends Club offers an intimate setting with an all-inclusive package of beer and wine, plus two meals per day. Admission is $250.00 for the Owens Corning AttiCat 300, with former Sprint Cup Series Champion Matt Kenseth making an appearance at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Fan Zone Pit Pass

The Fan Zone Pit Pass brings race fans into action, including access to the Infield Fan Zone, driver introductions, the NASCAR XFINITY Series garage experience, autograph sessions and a Q-and-A with Rob Gronkowski.

When requesting a cart, you will be asked to provide your name and location details for pickup services. Please plan ahead, service times do get delayed an hour before and after the race.

 

Kids Club

Kids Club, located in Hospitality Village, is the place to be for all young race fans from 11:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m. There will be appearances from drivers Blake Koch and Eric McClure, Dash, the Chicagoland Speedway Mascot, face painting, a moon bounce and much more. Shuttle Routes

The shuttle system around Chicagoland Speedway makes it convenient for fans to travel around to various track locations. Whether it’s to Champions Park, Hospitality Village or the infield, the shuttle will be running on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m.8:00 p.m., Friday, from 7:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to two hours post-race. Mobile App

Fans can get their information on the go and keep up with the most up to date track action with the Chicagoland Speedway Mobile App. This is a resourceful tool to use for track maps, camping, admissions, purchasing tickets and even times and scheduling. Free Parking and Coolers Permitted

General parking at Chicagoland Speedway is absolutely FREE and features updated parking lot signage to better serve your location needs. Bring your soft-sided coolers (6x6x12) filled with beverages and snacks!
