Chicagoland Speedway and 97.9 The Loop Host Rock The Race Party Prior to 400

Rock the Race

Joliet, Ill. – August 6, 2014 – On Sunday, Sept. 14, Chicagoland Speedway and 97.9 The Loop, Chicago’s classic rock station, will host the Rock the Race Party in Chicagoland Speedway’s Champions Park prior to the 400, the first race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., fans are invited to the main stage of Champions Park for a performance by Kashmir, Chicago’s premier Led Zeppelin tribute band. Whether you are a rock, country or pop music fan, the live entertainment at Chicagoland Speedway will ensure an extremely memorable weekend for all guests.

Kashmir brings only the best of Led Zeppelin to a family oriented crowd while seeking to re-create the experience of a 70's Zeppelin show utilizing vintage stage gear, costumes and special effects. Kashmir performs Jimmy Page and Robert Plant’s entire catalog, including hits Stairway to Heaven, Whole Lotta Love, and Black Dog, as well as songs from Led Zeppelin's concert film, “The Song Remains the Same.”

In addition to live music, Chicagoland Speedway and The Loop will host several contests and giveaways, including the chance to win passes to celebrate in Gatorade Victory Lane with the winner of the 400.
