Mark Ruffalo to Serve as Grand Marshal of the EnjoyIllinois.com 300
Joliet, Ill. – July 14, 2014 – Chicagoland Speedway today announced actor, producer, director and screenwriter Mark Ruffalo as the Grand Marshal for the EnjoyIllinois.com 300. He will be joined at the pre-race ceremonies by City of Peace recording artist and actor Blake Rayne, who will perform the national anthem prior to the green flag on Saturday, July 19.
Ruffalo is an Academy Award-nominated actor whose credits include "You Can Count on Me," "The Kids Are All Right," "Avengers," Zodiac," "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," and "In the Cut." He can currently be seen in John Carney's "Begin Again" opposite Keira Knightley as well as the Emmy-nominated HBO film "The Normal Heart."
Ruffalo is also a co-founder of The Solutions Project, an organization dedicated to using the powerful combination of science, business and culture to accelerate the transition to 100% clean, renewable energy. The Solutions Project is also partnering with ARCA driver Leilani Münter, who will be running the PrairieGold Solar Toyota in Saturday’s race, as well as travelling from Charlotte to Chicago in an electric, oil-free car.
Prior to his national anthem performance, Blake Rayne will join Darcey & Mo and The Morph Kings, the comprised band from of the upcoming motion picture The Identical, to perform a concert on the main stage of Chicagoland Speedway’s Champions Park as part of the ARCA Racing Summer Concert Series on July 19 at 4 p.m.
Rayne, in his acting debut in THE IDENTICAL, is new to the film world yet has years of stage experience. Rayne has recently completed his original music from the motion picture which releases nationwide on September 5th. He plays the dual role of Drexel Hemsley and Ryan Wade. Rayne’s film debut also includes his performance of many of the original songs in the movie. Appearing with Rayne and also in the movie is R&B group, Darcey & Mo, and The Morph Kings, a throwback to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, ala a taste to today’s Black Keys.
Advance tickets for the EnjoyIllinois.com 300 start at just $30 for adults and $5 for kids, while Fan Zone Pit Passes are only $25, which for the first-time ever provides entry into the active Nationwide Series garage. A race ticket also includes access to the Ansell ActivArmr 150 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, running on the same day.

For the fourth consecutive year, Chicagoland Speedway will host the first race of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup this September – the first of ten ‘playoff’ style NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races in pursuit of the 2014 championship. The Lucas Oil 225 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will kick off the weekend on Friday, Sept. 12, along with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying. On Saturday, Sept. 13, the Jimmy John’s Freaky Fast 300 powered by Coca-Cola NASCAR Nationwide Series returns with the first race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup concluding the weekend on Sunday, Sept. 14.
