Ansell Protective Products Renews ARCA Sponsorship at Chicagoland Speedway
Officials from the Ansell Protective Products, the Automobile Racing Club of America and Chicagoland Speedway have announced that Ansell’s ActivArmr brand of protective gloves, will once again sponsor the Ansell ActivArmr 150 at Chicagoland Speedway July 19.
The Ansell ActivArmr 150 will be part of a same-day stock car double header with the NASCAR Nationwide Series at the 1.5-mile suburban Chicago oval. The event will mark the fifth time Ansell has been the title sponsor of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at Chicagoland since 2009.
“We’re excited to welcome Ansell back as an entitlement partner for the third consecutive year,” said Scott Paddock, Chicagoland Speedway president. “We look forward to working with Ansell to highlight their ActivArmr brand to thousands of race fans during the July weekend.”
Ansell is the Official Safety Glove of the ARCA Racing Series. The Ansell ActivArmr 150 sponsorship is part of the comprehensive Menards Racing vendor program with ARCA, which includes an Official Company sponsorship for Ansell, co-sponsorship of the Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell, and co-primary sponsorship of 10-time and defending ARCA champion Frank Kimmel and Win-Tron Racing.
The ARCA Racing Series has been racing at Chicagoland Speedway since 2001. In the 13 races, no driver has won more than once. Richard Petty Motorsports Development Driver Corey LaJoie won the Ansell ActivArmr 150 last year with a last lap pass. The race took just over an hour to complete and was broadcast on SPEED.
The marketing program is anchored by a business-to-business relationship between Ansell, the world's largest manufacturer of protective gloves and clothing, and Menards, the nation's third largest home improvement retailer. The sponsorship launched the Ansell line of hand protection products and made the product available for purchase in over 250 Menards stores in 2010. There are more than 45 Menards stores in the greater Chicago area.
“Ansell is excited to continue the sponsorship program with Chicagoland Speedway, ARCA and Menards,” said Beemal Vasani, Director of Customer Marketing for Ansell. “We look forward to a successful race for the Ansell-Menards No. 44 Win-Tron Racing car driven by 80-time ARCA winner Frank Kimmel.”
The ARCA Racing Series will practice from 3:30 to 5:20 p.m. on Friday, July 18. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 19, with the start of the Ansell ActivArmr 150 scheduled for 5 p.m. The race will be broadcast on Fox Sports 2.
The race will be stop No. 11 of 20 on the 2014 ARCA Racing Series schedule. For the complete series schedule, visit www.arcaracing.com.
