BILL SCHREIBER RECEIVES SERVICEMASTER CLEAN’S EXTRA MILE AWARD
JOLIET, Ill. (Sept. 17, 2013) – As the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup kicked off this past weekend, one winner didn’t celebrate in Victory Lane. Yet a winner in many ways, Bill Schreiber, was honored for his work ethic and dedication at Chicagoland Speedway when he was awarded the ServiceMaster Clean Extra Mile Award.
As the crew chief of a fire truck and turn-four supervisor for Route 66 Raceway, Schreiber has been a part of the Chicagoland team since 2001. For the past 12 years, he has served as a medic; crew chief for a fire truck; a part of the fire and safety unit for Route 66; and aided in the scheduling of personnel.
“Bill has been with us at Chicagoland Speedway since day one and has always been a ‘go to” guy,” says Ken Kohrs, vice president of operations at Chicagoland Speedway. “Not only does he play a key role in the speedway’s events but most recently has taken a lead in the more than 50 events produced at the Route 66 Raceway Dragstrip each year. In this role, he’s earned the ServiceMaster Clean Extra Mile Award a quarter mile at a time!”
Away from the track, Schreiber has served as the Peotone Fire Protection District fire chief for 33 years. He enjoys fishing, collecting antiques, working on 1972 Chevelles and spending time with his wife, Sharon and children, Brittney and Brandon.

Since its inception in 2010, the ServiceMaster Clean Extra Mile Award has recognized 36 track team members across the country. Award recipients have been key members of full-time track staff and dedicated volunteers selected by track management personnel.
Each award winner’s name is engraved on a plaque that is displayed at the track where the individual works or volunteers. A personal plaque also is presented to recipients during the track’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race weekend.
