KURT BUSCH ADDED TO STAR-STUDDED LINEUP IN CHECKERED FLAG FAN ZONE ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15
Danica Patrick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. will also appear in the Fan Zone on Sunday, with Bobby & Donnie Allison Headlining on Saturday
Joliet, Ill. – August 30, 2013 – Kurt Busch, driver of the No. 78 Furniture Row ride for Furniture Row Racing, will join fans for a question-and-answer session inside the Checkered Flag Fan Zone on Sunday, Sept. 15. The question-and-answer session will take place prior to the green flag of the GEICO 400, the first race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup at Chicagoland Speedway.
Busch, currently ranked 12th in the points, owns six top-five finishes and 11 top-10 finishes in the 2013 season. Over his career, the 34-year-old driver has earned 24 victories and 88 top-five finishes in addition to the 2004 Sprint Cup Series championship title.
Also appearing on Sunday in the Checkered Flag Fan Zone will be Dale Earnhardt Jr., winner of NASCAR’s NMPA Most Popular Driver Award for a record tying 10 consecutive years, and Illinois native, Danica Patrick.
On Saturday, Sept. 14, NASCAR legends – and brothers – Bobby Allison and Donnie Allison will host the Checkered Flag Fan Zone, before the start of the Dollar General 300 Powered by Coca-Cola NASCAR Nationwide Series race. Named one of the NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers, Bobby was the 1983 Winston Cup Series champion and a 2011 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee. Donnie was named NASCAR Rookie of the Year in 1967 and went on to win 10 Winston Cup races.
Located just outside the main entrance, the Checkered Flag Fan Zone provides race fans with a unique hospitality opportunity to enhance their race day experience. In addition to behind the scenes driver access and a full buffet meal in a climate-controlled tent with unlimited soda, water and three beer tickets, (must be 21 years of age or older) fans will also have access to music, entertainment and prizes.
