NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES DRIVERS TRAVIS PASTRANA & REGAN SMITH TREAT CHICAGO TO ICE CREAM AHEAD OF SUMMER RACING
Cool off this summer with NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers Travis Pastrana and Regan Smith. On Monday, June 17, in anticipation of Chicagoland Speedway’s Rally, Rock & Race weekend this July, the first of two summer weekends of racing at Chicagoland, Pastrana and Regan will be piloting an ice cream truck around downtown Chicago.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Chicagoland Speedway Rally, Rock & Race ice cream truck will make stops at 190 N State Street, Millennium Park, and Pioneer Court off the Magnificent Mile with the final stop at Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, Bub City. For a suggested $1 donation, fans can select a bomb pop, Pastrana’s featured item, or an ice cream sandwich, Smith’s featured item. The driver with the most sales will earn the money for his charity of choice.
Pastrana, an 11-time X-Games gold medalist currently running his first full NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule, and Smith, currently first in the Nationwide Series points standings, will do an intimate question-and-answer session with fans at Bub City from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The Rally, Rock & Race weekend will be headlined by the STP 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Sunday, a rare off weekend for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Following the STP 300, the future stars of NASCAR will take to the 1.5-mile oval in the Ansell ActivArmr® 150 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. The weekend also features two nights of the Traxxas TORC Series, complete with Baja-style off-road racing at Route 66 Raceway’s dirt oval.
