2013 Chicagoland Speedway Season Preview
With two summer weekends of racing, including the return of the start of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and the first ever Rally, Rock and Race Weekend, Chicagoland Speedway fans will have a front row seat to some of NASCAR’s most electric action in 2013.
The season begins with the Rally, Rock and Race weekend July 19-21, headlined by the STP 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series on Sunday, July 21, a rare off-weekend for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The Rally, Rock and Race weekend will also feature two nights of the Traxxas TORC Series Baja-style off-road racing at Route 66 Raceway’s dirt oval in addition to entertainment including live music and car shows all weekend long. With three exhilarating forms of motorsports to go along with entertainment for the whole family, Rally, Rock and Race weekend is more than just a day at the races.
In September, Chicagoland Speedway will once again host the GEICO 400, the kick-off race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, during a triple-header weekend. Sprint Cup qualifying returns to Friday afternoon to kick off the weekend with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series firing their engines under the lights. The Dollar General 300 Presented by Coca-Cola NASCAR Nationwide Series race takes the green flag on Saturday, ahead of the GEICO 400 on Sunday. The past two GEICO 400 winners, Tony Stewart and Brad Keselowski, went on to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup, putting you in a unique position to witness your favorite driver take the first step toward championship history at Chicagoland Speedway!
The Speedway is also introducing the new Pit and Infield Fan Zone Experience pass, which is available for single-day or weekend purchase. The Pit and Infield Fan Zone Experience features an Infield Fan Zone with music and entertainment, pre-race concert access, NASCAR personality Q-and-A sessions, tech inspection viewing areas, an up-close look at driver introductions and on Sunday of the GEICO 400, access onto pit road.
Also new in 2013 is Chicagoland Speedway’s improved pricing on kids’ tickets. Kids will receive $25 off any ticket, in any section, to any event, with additional savings on weekend or season ticket packages!
The savings don’t stop there! Campers and full-season ticket holders have an opportunity to earn gift cards to the Richard Petty Driving Experience, priority invitation to driver appearances, a commemorative gift, discounted tickets, an invitation to the Trackside Party and more!
Don’t forget to download our mobile app as well! Chicagoland Speedway’s free app is available for any of your needs. The app was designed to enhance your experience at Chicagoland Speedway and conveniently provides knowledge of resources around the track.
