CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY PARTNERS WITH GREATER JOLIET AREA YMCA TO HOST CAR WASH FOR KIDS FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR
In an effort to help children lead happier, healthier lives, Chicagoland Speedway will team up with the Greater Joliet Area YMCA to host its second annual Car Wash for Kids on Friday, Oct. 5. New to the car wash experience this year, participants will be able to “dry” their cars by taking a guided lap around Chicagoland Speedway’s track.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be located in the Speedway’s infield off Laraway Road (enter through Gate 5). For a $20 donation, which will be split between the YMCA and Chicagoland Speedway’s 501 (c)(3) non-profit foundation, R.A.C.E., attendees will receive a car wash, a photo of their car in Gatorade Victory Lane and a track lap.
“We have put a great deal of emphasis in recent years on creating charitable programming to benefit Joliet and Will County,” said Scott Paddock, president of Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway. “Car Wash for Kids is an ideal fit for us, because it gives race fans and members of the community an opportunity to enjoy and experience our world class venue while also raising money for a worthwhile local cause.”
Funds raised through the Car Wash for Kids event will benefit children, families and adults served by the YMCA who require a financial program or membership scholarship to participate. The Greater Joliet Area YMCA is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) charitable organization that has been serving Will County and its surrounding areas for 84 consecutive years. The Y provides programs and services that focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. These programs and services are built on the Christian character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. As a result, healthy relationships are developed among children, adults and families to strengthen the community. Out of nearly 20,000 participants, the YMCA provides financial assistance to 1 out of 5 individuals.
“The YMCA is extremely grateful for the opportunity to partner with Chicagoland Speedway in their second annual car wash event. The Y and R.A.C.E. share a common mission of striving to improve the quality of life in our local community,” said James Watts, President and CEO of the Greater Joliet Area YMCA. “We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause.”
Armor All and STP have partnered with Chicagoland Speedway to make sure all of the vehicles at the event are protected from outdoor elements as we head into Fall by donating Armor All® Extreme Shield Wax, Armor All ® Ultra Shine Wash and Wax, Armor All Tire Foam and Armor All Cleaning Sponges for the Car Wash for Kids, along with take home items including iconic STP® stickers, pens, phone grips, and temporary tattoos.
“Everyone at Armor All® and STP® is proud to be partnering with Chicagoland Speedway for such an important cause,” said Guy Andrysick, EVP of Sales and Marketing and General Manager of AAG North America. “Anytime we have the opportunity to give back to communities that have been so supportive of our brands, it is great.”
