Dale Earnhardt Jr to Appear in Checkered Flag Fan Zone on Sunday, September 16 at the GEICO 400
Checkered Flag Fan Zone provides up-close access to NASCAR’s most popular driver
Joliet, Ill. – April 10, 2012 – National Guard Driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr., winner of NASCAR’s NMPA Most Popular Driver Award for nine consecutive years, will join fans to kick off the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Earnhardt Jr., who currently sits in second place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings, will appear in Chicagoland Speedway’s Checkered Flag Fan Zone for a question-and-answer session with fans on Sunday, September 16 prior to the GEICO 400.
“We are thrilled to announce that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be available in the Checkered Flag Fan Zone prior to the GEICO 400,” said Chicagoland Speedway president Scott Paddock. “It’s only fitting that we welcome one of NASCAR’s premier drivers to kick off the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. We look forward to an incredible lineup of drivers appearing in our fan hospitality areas to help make this a memorable weekend for all guests.”
Located just outside the main entrance, the Checkered Flag Fan Zone provides race fans with a unique hospitality opportunity to enhance their race day experience. In addition to behind the scenes driver access and a full buffet meal in a climate-controlled tent with unlimited soda, water and three beer tickets, (must be 21 years of age or older) fans will also have access to self guided pit tours, music, entertainment and prizes. Tickets to the Checkered Flag Fan Zone are as low as $99 on Saturday, September 15 for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Dollar General 300 powered by Coca-Cola, $129 on Sunday, September 16 for the NASCAR Sprint Cup GEICO 400, or special weekend pricing of $199 for both days.
