ALL-AMERICAN ROCK BAND THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS TO PERFORM POST-RACE CONCERT DURING GEICO 4OO AT CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY, SEPTEMBER 18
Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Kick Off at Chicagoland Speedway, Sept. 16-18
Joliet, Ill. – August 4, 2011 – The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will join forces with multi-platinum selling country artist, Darius Rucker, for an all-star musical line up during the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup on Sunday, September 18 at Chicagoland Speedway. All-American rock band, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus , will perform immediately following the GEICO 400 – the first race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Previously announced, Darius Rucker will perform prior to the GEICO 400 earlier that day.
“We are thrilled to announce The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus as the live musical performance to close out the NASCAR triple header weekend at Chicagoland Speedway,” said Scott Paddock, track president. “With country music super-star Darius Rucker kicking off the GEICO 400 that morning and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus concluding the day, Sunday is sure to be an entertaining and memorable day for our fans from start to finish.”
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is a five-piece alternative rock band rooted from Middleburg, Florida. Their incredibly ambitious record Don’t You Fake It rose to the top of the charts four years ago selling nearly 2 million records worldwide. The album featured smash hit song “Face Down” which cemented the band as a mainstay rock act. In 2010 The Hell Or High Water EP set the bar high for their forthcoming and highly anticipated album, Am I The Enemy, which comes out August 30th with a single called “Reap” already available via iTunes. The underlying theme of the band continues in the group’s thought-provoking, politically-charged direction that’s peppered previous projects, but has yet to be this bold. The band is more on fire now than ever before, exuding confidence at every razor sharp turn of the amplifier or bellowing vocal execution from impassioned front man, Ronnie Winter. The band’s enthusiasm and tenacity is sure to deliver to fans live Sunday night.
Chicagoland Speedway is the first race of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup this September – the first of ten ‘playoff’ style NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races in pursuit of the 2011 championship. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will kick off the weekend on Friday, September 16 followed by the Dollar General 300 powered by Coca-Cola on Saturday, Sept. 17. The three day weekend will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 18 with the GEICO 400 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
