Chicagoland Speedway at the Chicago Auto Show

2011 promises to be an exciting year for motorsports in the windy city, beginning with our display at the Chicago Auto Show.  Billed as the nation's largest and longest running auto show, Chicagoland Speedway will be on-hand for the 10-day, open to the public new car show to satisfy your need for auto racing, February 11-20.

We have two cars on display, including the #18 M&M's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 2011 Toyota Camry and Justin Schriefer's NHRA Nitro Funny Car.  This is your chance to see the new "car of tomorrow" in-person.  What separates this car from years past is the smaller front splitter and curved front bumper in-place of the front braces that supported the previous large splitter.  Last year we saw the reintroduction of the rear spoiler in place of the wing - a change that remains for 2011.  New for this year will be the use of Sunoco Green E15 racing fuel and will produce more horsepower.  Also, the catch can position on the pit crew has been eliminated in 2011 with the introduction of a new overflow and gas can design.  Aside from the many exciting changes we have announced at Chicagoland Speedway, the stock cars have seen their share of innovations over the off-season, too.

Chicagoland Speedway Track President, Scott Paddock, will be at the Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway display on Monday, February 14.  Paddock will also be part of a live interview at the Toyota display at 2:00PM on Monday.  So stop by and meet with the leader of the motorsports movement in Chicagoland.

Chicagoland Speedway will also be unveiling our your to be named, track mascot.  Join the race car driving cheetah for a special Radio Disney appearance on Saturday, 2:00-3:30PM and on select days during the show.  Our mascot is recruiting is crew members for the Chicagoland Speedway Official Kids Club.  Visit chicagolandspeedway.com/kidsclub for more information!

A number of NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series racers, including seven-time NHRA Top Fuel world champion, Tony Schumacher, will be on hand for autograph sessions.  This is a great opportunity to meet the drivers who pilot Top Fuel Dragsters and Nitro Funny Cars at speeds over 300 miles per hour.
