Before jumping into their cars for practice and qualifying at Chicagoland Speedway on Friday, NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers Dale Jarrett and Michael Waltrip participated in a press conference to announce UPS' new sponsorship agreement.

Jarrett, driver of the No. 88 UPS Ford, will continue to be sponsored by UPS for the next two years, as he drives a Toyota Camry for Michael Waltrip Racing in 2007 and 2008.

"Dale Jarrett has been an outstanding ambassador for the UPS brand, both on and off the track, and we expect more great things to come as we join him at Michael Waltrip Racing as the sponsor of his Toyota Camry," said Patrick Guilbert, vice president of sponsorships for UPS.

Earlier this year, Jarrett agreed to move to the Waltrip organization and race a Camry beginning with the 2007 Daytona 500. The decision to join Michael Waltrip Racing places UPS among the first corporations to sponsor a Camry in Toyota's inaugural 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series racing season.

"We feel like, and know that, UPS is the best sponsor within this garage area," Jarrett said. "We feel very fortunate that we're the team that they chose, and are excited that we will be able to continue this relationship for a couple more years. It's also very exciting for me to know that, with all that we've done over these six years, I will be able to be a part of the UPS family as they celebrate their 100th year of business next year."

"The UPS name is synonymous with speed and that's what Michael Waltrip Racing intends to deliver to UPS and Dale with the new UPS Toyota Camry," said owner Michael Waltrip, driver of the No. 55 NAPA Auto Parts Dodge. "From a business perspective, the addition of UPS expands our resources, which enables us to build the best teams and, in turn, grow our organization at a pace that will enhance our ability to win races."

UPS will continue its sponsorship of Jarrett and Robert Yates Racing through the remainder of the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series season.

"Robert Yates Racing has been an important part of the UPS Racing Program for the last six years," Guilbert added. "We're proud to have been associated with the Yates family and we appreciate their support of our corporate sponsorship goals over the years."
