Chicagoland Ford Dealers have been named the official sponsor of Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway

The three-year agreement went into effect during the CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway earlier this month. The exclusive automotive sponsorship features Ford cars and trucks as the official vehicles and pace vehicles for every event which takes place at the racing complex, including the upcoming USG NASCAR weekend on July 7-9.

"Ford is a company which exemplifies the dedication it takes to be among the best in the country," said Chicagoland Speedway/Route 66 Raceway Vice President and General Manager Matthew Alexander. "We strive to exceed the expectations of every guest who comes to our facility, and make the conscious effort to align ourselves with corporations who share that philosophy. We are proud to welcome Ford on board to our outstanding list of corporate partners throughout the Chicagoland community."

In addition to signage and suites at each of the tracks, Ford will also have large display areas for Ford products during race weekends. Ford cars and trucks will be used prominently in on-track activities.

"We're excited about this opportunity," said John Guido, chairman of the Chicagoland Ford Dealers FDAF group, and the dealer principal at Arlington Heights Ford in Arlington Heights, Ill. "Being the official vehicle of Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway gives us the opportunity to expose hundreds of thousands of consumers to our new Ford cars and trucks during the race weekends, as well as giving us the opportunity to use the excitement and promotion of the events to help drive traffic to Ford dealerships in the Chicagoland area."

"The Chicagoland Ford Dealers have always been a strong force in their marketplace," said Burt Diamond, global motorsport marketing manager, Ford Racing Technology. "And their involvement in Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway gives them an excellent marketing tool to reach even more customers in that area. We already know that 54 percent of Ford owners classify themselves as race fans, so this involvement will appeal to them right away. The great thing is that by being actively involved in these events, the Chicagoland Ford Dealers have a great opportunity to reach customers who may not have considered Ford in the past with key messages and a first-hand look at the great cars and trucks we are building."

Chicagoland Speedway's 2006 racing schedule again features five races spanning two event weekends, culminating in the Indy Racing League's IndyCar® Series' season finale on Sun., Sept. 10, 2006. The season opens with the 300-mile USG DUROCK® 300 NASCAR Busch Series race on Sat., July 8, and the 400-mile USG SHEETROCK® 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race on Sun., July 9. The ARCA/IRL weekend consists of the 200-mile SK Hand Tool 200 ARCA RE/MAX Series race and the 100-mile IRL® Indy Pro Series™ race on Sat., Sept. 9, followed by the PEAK® Antifreeze Indy 300 Presented by Mr. Clean™ IndyCar® Series race on Sun., Sept. 10, after which a 2006 IndyCar® champion will be crowned.
