Kenny Brack has made a tremendous comeback since his life-threatening injuries suffered last October in the 2003 IRL IndyCar? Series finale at Texas Motor Speedway.

And the 1999 Indy 500 Champion recently tested an Indy Car at Richmond and a sports car in Sweden. But the Rahal Letterman Racing driver won?t be in a racecar next Thursday (Sept. 9) in downtown Chicago.

Brack will be performing at the ESPN Zone from 5 ? 6 p.m. as part of the Pioneer Chicagoland Speedway Fan Fest.

Brack, who?ll be on hand to help out his Rahal Letterman Racing teammates Buddy Rice and Vitor Meira for the Delphi 300 Indy car race, will play his guitar with his Pioneer-sponsored band.

Kenny Brack and the Subwoofers will perform for one hour Thursday as part of a fan event with Indy cars drivers and Indy car racing games.

?While I was laid up with my injuries I was able to work a lot on my guitar and actually write some songs,? said Brack, who hopes to return to IRL action in the 2005 season. ?Our group of professional musicians are very good and make me look good too. I?m happy to come back to the Pikes Peak and perform for the fans. It will be great to see everyone again. I want to thank everyone for all of the cards, letters, e-mails and calls during my rehab time.?

Joining Brack in his rock group will be professional musicians Gene Deer, Kelsey Smith, Charlie Bushor and Smokin? Dave Wyatt and publicist Kathy Prather.

With Pioneer Electronics as the presenting sponsor for Kenny Brack and the Subwoofers, the band is scheduled to play at selected IRL IndyCar Series races in 2004. The band opened for LIVE at the Indy 500 Carb Day on May 27 this year.
