Christi Passmore has certainly selected a favorite race track on the ARCA RE/MAX Series circuit, and that would be the Chicagoland Speedway. Passmore qualified for Saturday's 200 in the fourth position, led 11 laps early in the race before finishing a career-best third. The 22-year old also became the highest finishing female in the history of the Chicagoland Speedway. 200 Information

Passmore?s No. 91 GAP Roofing-Asphalt & Fuel Supply Ford was right on target from the time that the Oklahoma-based race team unloaded on Thursday morning. The team practiced well, qualified well and raced within the top five for most of the afternoon.

?The car has been great for us all weekend,? said Passmore. ?Chicagoland has probably become my favorite speedway on the circuit because it is really comfortable to run. My car was stable through all the practice sessions and the only time that we started getting tight was there at the end of the race. My team was really strong on pit road too, our first stop got us out in good track position and on the second we had a little problem, but we were able to rebound. The team worked hard all weekend and I?m just really glad that it showed in our finishing position.?

Passmore started the race strong taking the lead on the first lap of the race. She continued to lead through the first 11 laps of the caution-filled event. Passmore missed numerous cars that got loose, spun and wrecked directly in front of her car. Passmore pitted twice during the 134-lap race for four tires and fuel without making a single adjustment on the car. The No. 91 was posting lap times faster than any other car on the track through much of the race, but the tight condition that developed in the race car late in the race kept Passmore to the third position when the checkered flag flew.

Passmore entered Saturday's race in the sixth position in ARCA RE/MAX Series championship points, 150 points behind the fifth place car of Jason Jarrett. As a result of her stout finish, Passmore has moved to within 75 points of Jason Jarrett, who sits in fifth with only two races remaining in the 2004 season. If Passmore finishes sixth in series points this season she will match the best points finish by a female in a national stock car touring series.
