The point's battle at the halfway point of True Value IROC XXVII reveals a rash of Roush racers at the top of the charts, with Kurt Busch, Mark Martin and Greg Biffle occupying the top-three spots respectively.

Four-time True Value IROC champion, and all-time IROC race winner, Mark Martin wasted no-time in revealing his affinity with winning races in equally prepared cars as he showed Roush prot?g? Kurt Busch the way across the stripe in round-one last February at Daytona International Speedway, with fellow Roush-mate, Greg Biffle taking fifth place.

Daytona sister track, Talladega Superspeedway hosted round two in April and within the opening five laps the Roush contingent was proving repeatability. Busch started 11th in the 12-car field and took the lead by lap five with Martin, who started last (12th ), sitting on Busch's bumper as they crossed the stripe. The two swapped spots a few times until Busch planted himself firmly on the point as Biffle made his way up into the top five.

A heated late-race restart relegated Martin to fifth with Busch winning his first True Value IROC race in only his second start and Biffle taking third.

2002 NASCAR Truck champion Mike Bliss split the Roush-mates at Talladega finishing second and he sits fourth in the point standings followed by Jimmie Johnson rounding out the top five.

By virtue of three-bonus points for leading laps at Daytona, Johnson is just ahead of a three-way tie involving IndyCar champion Sam Hornish, Jr., reining True Value IROC champion Kevin Harvick, and World of Outlaws champion Danny Lasoski respectively. The IROC tiebreaker places Hornish sixth, Harvick seventh and Lasoski eighth, which will be their car numbers (6, 7, 8 respectively) in the Chicagoland event.

2002 World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser sits ninth in the points followed by NASCAR's Ryan Newman (10th) and IndyCar drivers, Felipe Giaffone (11th) and Helio Castroneves (12th).

An incident in the IRL IndyCar Series event on Sunday, July 6 resulted in Felipe Giaffone suffering a fractured leg and pelvis. Fellow IROC IndyCar Series driver Scott Sharp will substitute for Giaffone in the remaining two events of the True Value IROC Series.

Race three of True Value IROC 27 will take the green flag on Saturday, July 12 at 4:30 p.m. CDT and will be broadcast on ESPN Saturday, July 12 at 9:00 p.m. EDT.
