STEELE TAKES TOP SPOT FOR ARCA 200

Tim Steele went out last, but he came out first. Steele, in the final moments of qualifying, knocked Jason Jarrett off the top-spot to win the Old Milwaukee Pole Award for the ARCA 200 at the new Chicagoland Speedway. The 3-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion steered his own T&D Motorsports Ford around the 1.5-mile superspeedway at an average speed of 170.778 mph setting a new 1-lap track record along the way. Friday's action begins with Delphi Indy 300 practice at 11:00 pm and final ARCA practice at 1:00 pm. Delphi Indy 300 practice picks up at 2:30 pm and the day concludes with an ARCA and IRL driver autograph session for all fans in attendance Friday. Tickets for Friday's practice session are $15. Kids 12 and under are free. Other racing action in Joliet includes USAC National Sprint car racing at Route 66 Raceway Friday night (Adjacent to Chicagoland Speedway). Spectator gates open at 5:00 pm with hot laps starting at 6:00 pm. The green flag drops at 7:00 pm. For tickets and info., call 815-727-RACE.
