CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES SIX MARKETING PARTNERS FOR 2001

Chicagoland Dodge Dealers Association, Pepsi-Cola Company, First Midwest Bank, AT&T Broadband, Motorola and Gatorade* Thirst Quencher will be the first marketing partners with the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. The partners were announced at a press conference in conjunction with the inaugural laps run at the new speedway. Indy Racing Northern Light Series driver Scott Sharp and NASCAR Winston Cup Series driver John Andretti were in attendance at the press conference and drove the first laps on the new state-of-the-art facility. Announcements made by Joie Chitwood, Chicagoland Speedway vice president/general manager, included the Chicagoland Dodge Dealers Association as the official vehicle provider, Pepsi-Cola as official soft drink, AT&T as official telecommunications supplier, Motorola as official telecommunications hardware provider, Gatorade as official sports drink and First Midwest Bank as the official bank for the 1.5-mile D-shaped tri-oval speedway. ?The excitement for NASCAR, IRL and ARCA coming to the Chicago Metropolitan area is evident with the strengths of the companies that are involved with the track,? said Chitwood. ?This is just the first announcement of many track sponsors to come, and we are pleased with the diversity of our corporate partners from a local Joliet owned and operated bank to global Fortune 500 companies. Both the race fan and the corporate partners demonstrate the tremendous interest the construction of this facility has created in the Chicago area.? The official vehicle partner for the speedway will be the Chicagoland Dodge Dealers Association. The Chicago Metro Dodge Dealer Advertising Association (Chicagoland Dodge Dealers) representing the 56 Dodge Dealers in the metropolitan Chicago area recently approved an exciting sponsorship opportunity with the Chicagoland Speedway. As ?Official Automobile and Truck Provider? of Chicagoland Speedway, the Chicagoland Dodge Dealers look forward to this partnership to extend and amplify here in the Chicago area the excitement generated by the historic return of Dodge to NASCAR Winston Cup Racing. This sponsorship will also showcase the Dodge Dealers unique partnership with Dodge Division on the Evernham Motorsports Number 9 and Number 19 Intrepid R/T race teams. Pepsi-Cola Company brings multiple years of motorsports history to Chicagoland Speedway. While serving as the official soft drink at many racing facilities, Pepsi also serves as the primary sponsor on Jeff Gordon?s #24 car in the Busch Grand National Series and is scheduled to run the Pepsi sponsorship in several Winston Cup races in 2001. The Chicagoland Speedway is owned by Raceway Associates, LLC, which is made up of the combined interests of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation (IMS), the International Speedway Corporation (ISC) and the founding owners of Route 66 Raceway, LLC. The 1.5-mile D-shaped tri-oval track is located adjacent to the existing Route 66 Raceway, which opened in 1998 and will be part of the motorsports park. Route 66 includes a state-of-the-art drag strip with stadium seating for 30,000 fans and a 1/2-mile dirt oval with seating for 8,000. Route 66 Raceway hosts two National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) National events, which features Top Fuel, Funny Cars, Pro Stocks, trucks and motorcycle racing, concerts and more.
